Project BP100
Our Mission
With BP100 we are bringing the community together along with public services, state, businesses and international partners. The mission is to rebrand the city into a new example of African city, with the populations as main actors. A clean city that attracts more Health, Wealth and Happiness for everyone.

Key Objectives
Our action to give a new image to the city of Bohicon strives to attain the following objectives:
-
Help eradicate infectious diseases and prevent pandemics
-
Promoting land rehabilitation and good practices for waste management
-
Promoting a sustainable economic Growth
-
Reducing poverty among the youth in Bohicon
-
Increasing food security
-
Promoting gender equality and empowering more women
The Problem

Bohicon, a city of 171,000, produces 89 tons of household solid waste per day.
Only 3% of the household have subscribed to the waste collection service offered by the NGOs.
With ineffective waste management policies garbage is dumped in nature on the street, in storm drains, empty squares, abandoned houses and in the bushes especially in poor neighborhoods.
Household solid waste is a source of many diseases such as gastroenteritis, cholera, etc…
Diseases are also a threat for the economy in the country, creating big loss of income for the families, decrease of productivity for the businesses and revenue loss for the country.
Project Description
BP100 consists in federating all the active forces of the city of Bohicon and beyond, in order to totally eradicate the scourge of garbage dumps in nature, to strengthen the current system of waste management, and create a sustainable development for the city.
The success of the project will be measured by the completion of the following three steps:

Phase 1: 500 young volunteers to remove all garbage dumps in the city in a weekly cleaning event.
We do it in a party atmosphere with food offered to the volunteers during each event.

Phase 2: Have one trash bin in every of the 38,200 households in Bohicon.
We will hire a team of 53 Women to weave baskets in various materials, that will be distributed in the houses.

Phase 3: Help create for the City Hall, a highly efficient Waste Management System, with the participation of the current Organizations for garbage collection.
We use phase 1 and phase 2 to raise awareness and create a social trend that will develop new behaviours to keep the city clean.

Project duration: 5 years
Total Budget: USD 2,963,099

Perceptives of BP100
Scalability of the project BP100 to all the cities in Africa.
Most of African countries are going through the crisis of Waste Management. A success in Mindset change by BP100, can be used to offer the protocol to cities in need across the continent.

City cleaning, and taking care of the environment are strong tools that will launch sustainable economic development in Africa. We strongly believe that this is the future of the continent.
